Munich, Germany.
It’s the only city in Germany we visited, and we stayed twice: once as a stop on the way from Rome to Prague and another between Prague to Geneva.
The Rome to Munich train was overbooked so for five hours we took turns either stuffed in the train coach or standing in the hallway with dozens of other seat-less passengers. Oi.
Munich itself was wonderful and we filled most of our time at museums and beer gardens.
Between the four of us, we visited BMW Museum, the Jewish Museum, the German Hunting and Fishing Museum, and the most incredible science museum, the Deutsches Museum. Hands-on experiments and exhibits kept our full attention for the day.
On the train from Prague to Munich we met a delightful German communications professor named Eva who tipped us off to 2 things: Germany’s failing infrastructure and the oldest (est. 1328) and best beer garden in Munich, the Augustiner-Keller.
